On the edges of its enamelled and gem-set case, the Reverso One Precious Colours watch reveals on the recto, a part of the elaborate geometric pattern adorning the reverse. Once turned over, the case back reveals a tangle of geometric shapes hand-painted in Grand Feu enamel in bright pastel tones. Rows of brilliant-cut diamonds capture the light to illuminate the coloured lines, forming squares and triangles in miniature painted enamel. Fully embodying the Art Deco style, the pattern complements the art deco bracket transferred on the mother-of-pearl dial. It takes around a hundred hours of hand-work in our Métiers Rares™ atelier to elevate this watch to the high standard of jewellery-making.

DESIGN

A WATCH DRESSED AS A JEWEL

This boldly feminine interpretation of the Reverso is a jewel meant to be worn, reaffirming Jaeger-LeCoultre's mastery of fine watchmaking and Métiers Rares™ techniques.

IN-HOUSE ENAMELLING AND GEM-SETTING EXPERTISE

HARMONY OF PROPORTIONS

The case of the Reverso One, with its slimmer, more elongated proportions, perfectly fits the shape of the wrist. The timepiece is fastened to the wrist by a shiny alligator strap in white to enhance the colours of the enamel.

CRAFTSMANSHIP

A TOUR-DE-FORCE OF DECORATIVE CRAFTS

This timepiece features a richly decorated case that pays tribute to the geometric style of Art Deco, enhanced by 100 hours of craftsmanship in the in-house Atelier des Métiers Rares™.

ENAMEL EXPERTISE

To create a uniform surface on which to paint the multicoloured pattern, the enameller applies layers of opaque white enamel, with firing after each layer. Then, with great precision, the lines that define the geometric design are hand-drawn with a fine point across the flat surface of the watch case, continuing seamlessly around the sides. Only then can the colouring can begin. Using a very fine-tipped brush, the entire surface is hand-painted to create the blocks of different colour.

277 BRILLANT-CUT DIAMONDS

After enamelling, the Reverso case is handed over to the gem-setter, who must work with absolute precision to ensure that the diamonds are perfectly set. Tiny claws of gold are raised from the flat metal surface to hold each stone in place. This must be done without disturbing the finished enamel.

CALIBRE

A SHAPED HEART

The manually wound calibre 846 is one of the rare shaped movements with a dedicated mechanical construction where the plate is no longer round but oval. Thanks to its tonneau-shape, Calibre 846 closely follows the rectangular form of the Reverso case.

HERITAGE

INSPIRED BY THE FIRST FEMININE REVERSO

A pure expression of the iconic reversible case created in the early 1930s, the Reverso One combines the eternal feminine with all times. The first pivoting watch to feature a rectangular case that literally flips over to protect its dial, the Reverso became a must-have from the moment it was launched. Less than a year after its creation in 1931, many women's models of the Reverso were created, subtly revisiting the original aesthetic codes: rectilinear geometry of the reversible case, triangular lugs, horizontal gadroons, and applied hour markers.
