Master Grande Tradition

The Master Grande Tradition luxury watch collection perfectly embodies Jaeger-LeCoultre’s expertise dating from 1833. From the complexity of craftsmanship to the beauty of fine watchmaking at its absolute best.
Overview

The epitome of watchmaking

The outstanding Master Grande Tradition watch calibres are made up of several hundred components, with the most complicated having almost 600. Epitomising the Maison’s spirit of innovation, this complexity is achieved without compromising the level of decoration and finishing of each component of the movement. The refined dial is elegant and pure while the sapphire glass back offers a glimpse into true watchmaking mastery.

Design

Highly refined complexity

The refinement of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Grande Tradition fine watch collection is strikingly beautiful and represents all the mastery of the Grande Maison in creating spectacular timepieces. Meticulously crafted, the cases and dials give expression to the exceptional complications within the collection's calibres. Each timepiece is finished with finely detailed decoration.

The wonders of complexity

To do justice to the complexity and beauty of the calibres it houses, the case of the collection has different finishes. This showcases the nuances of each calibre’s decoration that one can see when turning the watch over. Every case is composed of more than 80 different components, including the lugs, which are not attached to the case, allowing them to be decorated down to the smallest detail. The complexity of the cases keeps with the Grande Maison's desire to make the watches within the Master Grande Tradition collection extremely beautiful.

Beautifully balanced

Looking at any piece in the Master Grande Tradition watch collection is a pure moment of mechanical wonder. Our designers have created a balanced dial aesthetic driven by the complications of the calibre which elevates the complexity of each timepiece. Sometimes openworked to reveal the key components like trebuchet hammers or gongs and sometimes in guilloché enamel or grained, the eye-catching dials are always of distinguished beauty.

The Master Grande Tradition collection epitomises the Maison's true spirit of innovation. Each timepiece is highly refined with intricately crafted complexity which showcases the very best of our Haute Hologerie mastery.

A hidden sophistication

The intricacy of design goes far beyond exterior aesthetics. Expert designers work alongside master watchmakers to design the plates, bridges and decoration. Turning the complication watch upside down provides a window into the hidden sophistication of its soul. Each component of the movement is decorated with traditional watchmaking decorations like Côtes de Genève, sunrayed Geneva stripes, circular graining and chamfering.

Heritage

The watchmaker of watchmakers

Always striving to surpass itself, La Grande Maison has created more than 1260 calibres and registered over 400 patents. From the very beginning, our master craftsmen and women have created exceptional calibres which were sold to the great Swiss watchmakers, earning Jaeger-LeCoultre the nickname of "Watchmaker of Watchmakers". The calibres of the Master Grande Tradition collection are the result of this expertise, bringing almost 200 years of savoir-faire to craft truly exceptional swiss luxury watches.

Calibre

The pinnacle of fine mechanics

Capitalising on our rich watchmaking heritage in the creation of exceptional calibres, the Master Grande Tradition watch collection takes up the iconic complications of watchmaking, such as the Tourbillon, the Minute Repeater and the Perpetual Calendar, while adding a twist, an extra touch of savoir-faire courtesy of our watchmakers in the Vallée de Joux.

Made in our Manufacture

From its calibre to its case, every Jaeger‑LeCoultre watch is designed, manufactured and assembled under one roof, at our Manufacture in the Vallée de Joux. Our obsession with quality is renowned as Jaeger‑LeCoultre fine models undergo a strict “1,000 Hour Control” testing before leaving our Manufacture.

This unique program provides internal certification tests that far exceed official chronometry tests. It includes movement testing before and after casing and extends throughout assembly, according to conditions that match daily wear. A quality seal is engraved on the back of every watch once it meets our strict standards.
