COLLABORATION
UNCOVERING THE SECRETS OF NATURE’S GOLDEN RATIO
Under Made of Makers, Jaeger-LeCoultre has partnered with talented digital media artist Yiyun Kang to create a unique piece of art commissioned for the Maison. Inspired by the hidden mysteries of the Golden Ratio, and the intricate complexity of the Reverso, Yiyun Kang has crafted an exclusive, large scale 3D-video sculpture entitled “Origin.”
“Origin” will travel to various global destinations as an integral part of a series of Jaeger-LeCoultre events.

ARTWORK
CELEBRATING THE DIVINE PROPORTION’S ORIGINS
Yiyun Kang took the Golden Ratio as her inspiration in crafting her latest art installation “Origin”. The divine proportion is the driving creative force behind the design of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s iconic Reverso and she explores its natural origins. “Origin” is a tribute to the ubiquity of the Golden ratio in the world around us. Through its narrative, it builds a parallel between the symmetry in nature and the geometry of Art Deco design.
AN IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE
Presented in a very large three-dimensional screen that has been purpose-built for installation in public spaces, “Origin” is a tribute to the ubiquity of the Golden ratio in the world around us. Through its narrative, it builds a parallel between the symmetry in nature and the geometry of Art Deco design.

As an artist, I found it interesting that the design of the Reverso is driven instinctively by the Golden Ratio. Inspired, I sought out scientific research that could help explain why humanity has been instinctively drawn to the concept for so long.
