PROTECTING
MAKE OUR TIME BETTER
Since the beginning of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s history, we have been surrounded by the exceptional beauty and biodiversity of the Vallée de Joux, which has always been a deep source of inspiration. Rooted in this unique valley, we have always been committed to protecting the natural world that surrounds us.
Limiting our impact on the environment is a priority at Jaeger-LeCoultre and we are taking action to reduce our GHG emissions and support biodiversity preservation in the Vallée de Joux.

REDUCING OUR IMPACT
SCIENCE-BASED TARGET INITIATIVE
As part of the Richemont Group, Jaeger-LeCoultre participates in the Science-Based Targets Initiative. Since 2019 we have been committed to accounting, publishing and reducing our carbon footprint.
Our goal is to reduce our absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 46 percent by 2030 from a 2019 base year and to reduce our Scope 3 emissions from purchased goods and services and business travel by 55 percent per dollar value added by 2030 from a 2019 base year.
As a member of the RE100, a global initiative of the world’s most influential companies, Jaeger-LeCoultre today uses 99% of renewable electricity throughout its operations worldwide.
EDUCATE
EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS
At Jaeger-LeCoultre, we deploy the Climate FRESK workshop, a collaborative, three-hour training teaching all our voluntary teams the fundamental science behind climate change.
As part of our training program, we offer to all collaborators the opportunity to share their knowledge on best practices. We propose educational training and eco-conception workshops to work towards improvement at all levels of our activities.

ACTIONS
BIODIVERSITY
Our biodiversity management approach lies in our Environmental Code of Conduct and Supplier Code of Conduct, which set out principles that guides biodiversity risk assessment and management practices. Our Supplier Code of Conduct explicitly requires suppliers to avoid and minimise their impact on biodiversity and seek opportunities for biodiversity conservation linked to their activity.
As part of our PVC phase-out initiative, we have explored more recyclable materials, culminating in the cessation of PVC-containing product sales in our stores and to wholesalers, including packaging and gifts.
A new Jaeger-LeCoultre watch box has reduced its plastic footprint by 93%. We have also eliminated plastic water bottles in favour of refillable glass bottles and switched to mugs instead of plastic coffee cups in our Manufacture.

SHAPING THE FUTURE
Surrounded by nature, it is meaningful for Jaeger-LeCoultre to take part in the promotion and preservation of local biodiversity.
Our Maison turned to Mr. Sven Aubert, a Swiss market gardener from Bioux, to create, cultivate and harvest our own vegetable garden. This initiative aims to promote short circuits and raise awareness of good practices. The vegetables grown are made available to all our employees.
Since 2011, thanks to a collaboration with a local beekeeper, our hives can welcome between 500,000 and 600,000 bees during the high bee season.

VOLUNTEERING
ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE
For over ten years, the Environmental Committee at our Manufacture has been meeting to propose new actions and organize activities during Environment Week. The Committee has set up an eco-gesture regulation and organised educational workshops to raise awareness among all employees.
