NEW OLFACTORY SIGNATURES BY NICOLAS BONNEVILLE

COLLABORATION

PERFUMERY AT ITS FINEST

Introducing Nicolas Bonneville, a French perfumer, who brings his creative talent to Jaeger-LeCoultre's Made of Makers programme by crafting three exclusive olfactory signatures that collectively capture the identity of La Grande Maison while each expresses a particular aspect of its story.

CREATION

BLENDING ARTISTIC CREATIVITY WITH THE PRECISION OF SCIENCE

Jaeger-LeCoultre's desire to create an olfactory identity arose from the natural affinity between the worlds of perfumery and watchmaking: both combine artistic creativity with scientific precision. In watchmaking, every element must be functional and meticulously adjusted. Similarly, in perfumes, each raw material must be precisely balanced to achieve the desired result.

THREE ORIGINAL FRAGRANCES

The three olfactory signatures crafted by Nicolas Bonneville for Jaeger-LeCoultre represent the highest practices that distinguish haute perfumery from all other fragrances, using short formulas with high concentrations of noble ingredients leaving distinctive and sophisticated trails.

The principle of 'less is more' ensures that your fragrance retains its clarity and depth; you achieve a unique scent with real character and distinction.

NICOLAS BONNEVILLE: THE SCENT ARTIST

Born and raised in France, Nicolas Bonneville discovered his love of perfumery at the age of 12 during a trip to Grasse, the perfume capital of the world. Since then, he has been fascinated by the art of fragrance creation, initially teaching himself through experimentation then, after completing his schooling, receiving comprehensive mentorship from Jacques Maurel and Francis Kurkdjian. In his pursuit of mastery, he travels widely to explore the sources of many of the rare, natural ingredients that he uses.

Nicolas Bonneville draws inspiration from nature and is a keen gardener, cultivating a variety of plants and flowers in his own garden in Paris. An art lover, he finds inspiration in the way Pop and street artists such as Warhol, Haring, JonOne and Banksy reuse everyday objects and reinterpret the urban experience. Complementing his artistic inclinations, he appreciates competition and regularly attends the famous 24-Hour race in his hometown of Le Mans, drawing parallels between the teamwork essential to success in both perfumery and motorsport. In 2024, Nicolas Bonneville was awarded by the Fragrance Foundation France in the Niche category for one of his recent creations.

MADE OF MAKERS: REIMAGINING CREATIVE EXPRESSION

Made of Makers encapsulates a series of collaborations with artists and with artisans from various disciplines outside watchmaking, building a community of creators with similar values and visions of creativity, and provoking new conversations.

With intense respect for the person in the process – the creativity of the mind and the skill of the hand – the programme focuses on creative souls who share the Maison’s values and whose work explores new forms of expression.
