Very early on in its story, Jaeger-LeCoultre began to design and create luxury watches for women. Its heritage is resplendent with highly inventive women's watches: pendant, brooch and ring watches; before wrist watches came about in the early twentieth century. The Maison has always focused on offering women timepieces that combine aesthetics with exceptional watchmaking characteristics. In 1929, Jaeger-LeCoultre invented the Calibre 101, which became the smallest mechanical movement in the world to equip timepieces, mostly High Jewellery watches, resulting in pieces that are as delicate as they are refined. Since its birth in 1931, the Reverso luxury watch has been created for women. Its Art Deco design with clean, geometric lines immediately seduced both sexes. With the invention of the Duetto system, which features two dials back-to-back, the Grande Maison created a model, which could be reversed to reveal a piece of jewellery for evening wear. With the Rendez-Vous watch collection, created in 2012, Jaeger-LeCoultre offers women fine watches of unprecedented luxury, combining the beauty of jewellery with the sophistication of an automatic Haute Horlogerie calibre bestowed with complications.
