Automatic, self-winding watches

In its journey from pocket to wrist, the watch underwent a small revolution, which was further accentuated by the invention of automatic winding, one of the most striking advances in watchmaking history. The watch draws its energy from the natural movements of the wrist, offering a highly appreciated peace of mind and comfort of use. In 1946, Jaeger-LeCoultre created its first automatic calibre, the Calibre Jaeger-LeCoultre 476. Six years later, the Futurematic was born. Free from a winding crown, it was the first entirely automatic luxury watch in the history of watchmaking. The Grande Maison continued to pursue its tradition of invention by offering automatic watches for men and women across all of its collections. The Rendez-Vous collection is almost entirely comprised of automatic watches, offering women the watchmaking characteristics that they appreciate and deserve. When equipped with a sapphire back, automatic fine watches reveal the decorated oscillating weight's movement, a pleasure for the eye.
